I loved writing these songs...the collaborations were inspiring. I loved playing them live, onstage. Now I've decided to record my own, more personal, more acoustic versions of these songs...hope you remember and enjoy.

I MIGHT AS WELL BE ON MARS…Alice and Me…one of our best, in my humble opinion. Desmond Child came in at the end and added a very cool bridge.  Thanks Desmond.

DARKEST HOUR…One of my personal favorites. Written during the final days of The Frost, but never performed.  It’s also on the Ursa Major album.

WAIT AND SEE… I wrote this song in the nineteen sixties after being moved by “Rainy Day Women” by Bob Dylan. I wonder what I was thinking…but the Bossmen fans loved it.

HOW YOU GONNA SEE ME NOW…Alice Cooper and Bernie Taupin came to me with these lyrics, I sat down at the piano, and a hit song was born.

MYSTERY MAN…written on vacation at Houghton Lake, Michigan.  I wrote it, and then asked my wife for a divorce. The first FROST hit single, but not the last.

YOU AND ME…Alice Cooper and I turned out this little ditty in a back office at Nimbus Nine Studio in Toronto. It was during the sessions for Lace and Whiskey. You gotta be creative on the spot sometimes.

MOTOR CITY SHOWDOWN...I joined up with a gang when I was just a Detroit teenager.  It was called the Imperials. But  I was always scared shitless, so I gave up ganghood very quickly and became a guitar player. I write about it in this song.

JUST AS I AM…Songwriter Rob Hegel and I collaborated on this song.  Air Supply recorded it, Clive Davis made it a huge hit on VH1, and these many years later, I offer up this version.

I NEVER CRY…Alice and me again.  Out on the patio overlooking the bay on the island of Maui, Hawaii. It was a lovely high point of a month of golf, swimming and songwriting. Alice Cooper’s biggest hit. My acoustic version here.

ONLY WOMEN BLEED…The first song Alice Cooper and I ever wrote together, from a ballad I had written in 1968 and a title Alice had written. Maybe 25 minutes spent writing this. Man we were good! OWB has since been covered by more than 25 artists. Once again, my personal rendition.
